Day One: APRIL 10th - First Day of our TENTH TERM!

After our 911 session, we had Fall-in, Jills did attendance. Karsen hung out for awhile. Great to have him with us again! A few people were away. We watched a few video clips on how some of the Mermaid Theatre Puppets are made. We split up into small groups got to work on the parade puppets.

Thanks for taking all these great pictures Ainsley!

Andrew got back to work on Blossom, and with Lynn - tried to figure out how to attach arms. Max worked with Andrew for a bit then checked out the Invisible Man with Will & Julianne. Erin, Lilia and Gwen worked on the Tin Man. Leah & Erin worked on the purple person. Eduardo started to paint his guy red- I'm thinking - he's going in the direction of Spider Man. Alison and Katie worked with Ainsley on her yellow bird. Alison is planning to do an angel with the same kind of umbrella flapping wings as Ainsleys (see Mermaid Theatre's Owl video clip attached). Megan Jills and Marie worked on the pink guitar body for the memory Keepers Daughter. Everyone took a little break here and there, and some people chilled for a while hanging in the living room. Eduardo is back on the job of taking care of our music.

FIRST AID & CPR Training!

The Team had their first day today. Emily M. from the Nova Scotia Lifesaving Society, sponsored by the TD Duke of Ed Program gave us all a First Aid, CPR course. We were glad to see Karsen and Jane made it for the day! Always glad to have the old Team around- Once a Team always a Team! Everyone learned how to deal with an injured victim, how to deal with shock, bleeding, broken bones, (and how not to kick someone when they are down, LOL inside joke). Everyone got to try out some bandage techniques and learned how to make a sling. Ainsley especially liked learning how to make the sling from her hoodie. We wrapped up with some vigorous compressions on the little blue men! Thanks Emily, NSLS, TD & DOE! Check out the photos!
